Naren Kini has been a part of the information technology industry for the last 19 years, 12 of which have been in the US. Regarded as a Global Executive with experience in building and developing business in China, Japan, UK, India, Singapore and US.
Naren is the co-founder of Touchpoints, a Global Solutions and Services firm based in CA that helps deliver point solutions and services to select domains. Along with his co-founder UC Chanda and a team of talented associates, Touchpoints thrives to deliver value to their clients in Public Sector, Technology and Financial Sector.
Naren started his career in the technology domain of CAD/CAM/CAE with organizations like Hinditron/Digital Equipment India and Onward Technology. He spent most of his time in product marketing and business development between 1988 and 1992.
In 1992, he moved to the US, with Syntel to spearhead Engineering Consulting Practice for the auto industry in the Midwest. Started and grew that business to about 14 million in 3 years.
Started a new practice – Enterprise Solutions, in the east coast and grew it across the nation organically as well as thru strategic acquisition and integration of businesses. At the time of exit, the practice was about $18 million in revenue with a number of flagship clients in Oracle, SAP as well as Peoplesoft practices.
Naren was recruited to the Board of Directors of Hall Kinion & Associated in 1999 to manage a subsidiary (Group IPEX) of theirs. As President of the company, grew the revenue from about 6 million USD to about 40 million USD at its peak by 2001. He later on integrated it along with four other subsidiaries (HK International, TKO International, TKI, TKO Japan) into the parent company. This role as the President of subsidiaries called for establishing, managing and growing businesses in China, Japan, UK and India with offices in east, Midwest and western US.
Was instrumental in devising a new ‘go-to-market’ strategy for Hall Kinion and positioning it as a value player in the consulting business framework of industry vertical and specialization. Recognized as a high impact player and strategist with keen passion for customers and customer relationship.
His education includes a Bachelor of Industrial and Production degree from Bangalore University and Proficiency Certificate from the Indian Institute of Science in Engineering Consultancy.
